Eating Glasses

For clinicians

Eating Glasses finds the patterns in your CGM data, suggests small steps drawn from published research to work on them, and tracks your progress, all with nothing to log.

What it does

Eating Glasses is an iPhone app for people who use insulin. It reads the glucose history a person already has, finds the patterns that summary numbers can hide, and explains each one in plain language.

It suggests small steps to work on a pattern, drawn from published research, with the source shown. Then it tracks progress and shows the person's own before and after.

For people who use insulin and wear a CGM: adults, or ages 13 to 17 with a parent's consent. United States and iPhone. Dexcom, Stelo, FreeStyle Libre, Medtronic or Eversense.

What it never does

  • It never computes or suggests an insulin dose.
  • It never diagnoses a condition.
  • It never predicts glucose or sends alarms. The CGM keeps that job.
  • It never sells health data or shares it with advertisers.

Anything about medication or settings goes to the care team. Eating Glasses is a general wellness product. It is not a medical device.

How data is handled

  • Your CGM readings never leave your phone.
  • Glucose is analyzed on the phone by a rules-based engine and never sent to an AI.
  • Optional food scans go to an Eating Glasses server and an AI service.
  • The account and its diabetes profile settings are stored on an Eating Glasses server.
  • The person decides who sees their summary.

Details are in the privacy policy.

The care-team report

A one-page, visit-ready summary made by the app. It holds the consensus metrics, the patterns ranked with timing and sources, and the one question the person wants to ask.

The person shares it at the visit, on the phone or as a PDF. Every report is observations only, suggests no insulin or medication changes, and is not a diagnosis.

A basic care-team report stays free. See an illustrated example on the clinicians page.

How a patient joins the beta

  • Join the beta. The beta is free.
  • Turn on Apple Health access, or import a CareLink or LibreView file. The setup guide has the steps for each CGM.
  • Patterns appear from the history already on the phone, with what each one means.
  • Bring the one-page summary to the visit.
