Eating Glasses

Set up Eating Glasses

Getting your glucose data in takes a few minutes. Pick your CGM below.

Before you start

After you install the app from TestFlight, open it once, wait about a minute, then close it completely and open it again. That makes sure you're on the newest version before you begin.

Dexcom G7

In the Dexcom G7 app

  1. Open the Dexcom G7 app.
  2. Tap the Connections tab.
  3. Tap Apple Health.
  4. Tap "Activate to share."
  5. Turn on Blood Glucose.
  6. Tap Allow.

In Eating Glasses

Tap Connect Apple Health, turn on Blood Glucose, and tap Allow. Your readings come in from there.

Dexcom G6

In the Dexcom G6 app

  1. Open the Dexcom G6 app.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Apple Health.
  5. Turn on Blood Glucose.
  6. Tap Allow.

Menu names can differ a little between versions of the Dexcom app.

In Eating Glasses

Tap Connect Apple Health, turn on Blood Glucose, and tap Allow.

Medtronic (CareLink)

Medtronic doesn't share readings with Apple Health, so you bring your history in from a CareLink file instead.

Get your file (easiest on a computer)

  1. Open carelink.minimed.com and sign in.
  2. Go to Reports.
  3. Choose Data export (CSV).
  4. Pick the widest date range.
  5. Save the CSV, then get it onto your iPhone: email it to yourself and save the attachment to Files, or put it in iCloud Drive.

Bring it into Eating Glasses

  1. On the connect screen, tap "My CGM isn't in Apple Health" (the link under the big button).
  2. Choose Medtronic Guardian, then tap "Import my CareLink data".
  3. Tap Choose file and pick your CSV.

Already past setup? Tap Settings, then Import new data, then Choose file. If that screen shows Dexcom instructions, pick your CareLink file anyway: it reads CareLink files too. To refresh your data later, export a new file and import it the same way.

Stuck, or something looks off?

Take a screenshot inside the app. TestFlight will offer Share Beta Feedback, which sends the screenshot straight to us with a note from you. You can also email support@eatingglasses.com.

Your glucose data stays on your phone, and the app never tells you anything about insulin or dosing.
